Independence Inn

The Independence Inn is where Lorelai goes after she gives birth to Rory. She is able to get a shack behind the Inn to live at. Lorelai starts out as a maid, but works her way to manager. Sookie is the head chef at the inn. Michel is the concierge. There are other workers seen during the show, but none really have names or are briefly mentioned.

The Inn catches on fire one night. The majority of guests were part of the Edgar Allan Poe society. Lorelia gets a call in the middle of the night. She meets up with Sookie and Michel. A temporary headquarters is set up at Miss Patty's Dance studio. Over the course of the next few weeks, Lorelia lays off most of the staff, and has most of the rooms shut down. The Inn eventually is forced to close down. Lorelia and Sookie are forced to start their own catering company.
